Dear Diary: Bad Day gets Weird
Posted by Kalina on Jun 6, 2009
Gimli asked me if I wanted to go past Isengard…wonder why? It’s not as if we have any friends there. Hm, well, I don’t really care, but Iguess we’ll go that way. Could it have something to do with the fact that I haven’t seen trees in a long time? Maybe he wants to walk past Fangornor something. Well, Dwarves have always confused me, and I don’t believe Iwill ever understand everything that goes throught their strange heads. Very ugly, fuzzy ones, too. Their hair is weird and fuzzy, too. Mine is long and smooth and silky…I prefer mine, of course.
I will let you know what Gimli’s idea is all about.

Dear Diary: It looks like Legolas is having a bad day.

Legolas said that since we’re going to the Glittering Caves, I should lead the way. So, I agreed. But when we were 10 or more miles away from Minas Tirith, Legolas just couldn’t stand “it” anymore. He just started yelling at me and getting really cranky. When I asked what his problem was, he wouldn’t answer. Now, we Dwarves, in our childhood, we’re taught about Elves and their strange ways, and every reason to avoid one. I understood this as “The missing of things that grow.” So, I tactfully asked Legolas in a round-about way if he wanted to go Isengard first. He must’ve been having a very bad day, because he agreed without any argument. So, now we’re on our way to Isengard, and what he doesn’t know is that after we’ve looked at that for a little, I’m going to lead him into Fangorn Forest, and then he can see some trees and Ents. I plan on going all the way through, so as to end up in Rohan. Then, we’ll stop at Edoras first and visit Eomer, then go see the Glittering Caves. I wonder if that will cheer Legolas up?
Who says Dwarves are cruel?

Dear Diary: Bad Day

This morning when I woke up, I took one look in the mirror and almost passed out. my hair was a huge mess. So i was fixing it (when it’s that bad, it takes a while) and Gimli comes and pounds on the door, telling me we had to leave two minutes ago. So I told him that my hair was a lot Read the rest of this entry »
Dear Diary: We are on our way!!

Yes! Finally we are all packed and ready to go (I have no idea what took Legolas so long; he claimed his hair was a mess) to the Glittering Caves of Helm’s Deep! After we make our trip there, we’ll probably stop at Edoras to visit Eomer and pay our respects to Theoden’s grave. There we’ll give Eomer the news that Eowyn and Faramir got married a couple months ago or so (longer? I do not know. Didn’t keep track of the days. It is so much fun in Gondor). I have a feeling that Legolas is starting to miss all sorts of greenery. I don’t blame him. There aren’t even any plants on our plates to eat!
Will write tomorrow

Dear Diary: I fooled Gimli!
Posted by Kalina on Jun 3, 2009
It’s Legolas here, the prettiest elf in Middle-Earth. Today I fooled Gimli into thinking that a phrase in Elvish meant something completely different. (Of course, I changed it to something that was believable) I told him Legolas Onen Thranduil i-Estel Eldar, u-chebin estel anim means Legolas son of Thranduil is the prettiest elf, and can boss the others around. And of course, being a Dwarf and not knowing anything about my wonderful language, he fell for it completely!!! The actual phrase is Onen i-Estel Edain, u-chebin estel anim which means I gave hope to the Dunedain, I have kept no hope for myself. Seriously, Dwarves can be so clueless! Even I, a natural blond, am smarter than most of them!
Well, I have to go pack my essentials for our trip to Helm’s Deep. Gimli’s fascination with glittery objects is quite amusing.
I will write as soon as I can.

Dear Diary: I am Learning Elvish!
Posted by Robert on Jun 3, 2009
Legolas taught me some Elvish! Legolas Onen Thranduil i-Estel Eldar, u-chebin estel anim. That means: Legolas son of Thranduil is the prettiest elf, and can boss the others around. I think Elvish is pretty cool! I can modify it: Gimli Onen Gloin i-Estel Durin, u-chebin estel anim! That’s pretty cool. You know what else? Legolas said we can go to the Glittering Caves of Helm’s Deep! I am getting ready for that now.
Okay, signing out now.
